The patch will adhere best to clean, dry, oil-free and hair-free skin. Before applying, clean the area with soap and water or an alcohol wipe. Allow it to air dry. Gently bend the back of the patch to remove one side of the paper backing. Take care not to touch the sticky surface. Place the patch directly on or near the area of pain. Press the sticky side down onto the skin. Remove the remaining paper backing. Press firmly for 5 seconds to ensure a good seal.
In most cases, the patch will adhere for 3 days. If you are experiencing difficulty with the patches staying on, a band-aid, medical tape or 3M micropore paper tape may be used over the patch.
When reapplying after 3 days, avoid applying the patches to the exact same spot on the skin. If irritation occurs, choose a different location. Do not use on open wounds or damaged skin.
